We proudly offer these world-renowned Japanese woodworking saws, handsaws, polesaws and folding saws crafted by Silky Saws in Japan. Selling and marketing Silky Saws is a pleasure because of the quality and attention to detail that is a philosophy hallmark of Silky Saws Japan. It is critically important for the survival of humanity that we maintain and preserve our trees, forests and greenery. SILKY’s intent is to be eco-friendly and to continue with a strong passion for excellence in the design and manufacture of saws that are superior and a pleasure to use everywhere in the world.
Silky saws are made in Japan by a company which has specialised in the manufacture of saws since 1919. Unique technology and design has resulted in an extensive range of saws with superb cutting ability. Silky saws cut as you pull the blade towards you. They do not cut on the forward or push stroke. Cutting on the pull stroke requires less energy and gives you more control over the action of the saw.

Silky saws pair over a century of Japanese blade-making heritage with modern materials and design to deliver unrivalled cutting performance. Their pull-stroke action engages the teeth under tension—giving you cleaner cuts, greater control and reduced fatigue compared to push-stroke models. Precision-ground SK-5 high-carbon teeth slice through green and dry wood alike without clogging, while eco-friendly finishes and replaceable blades ensure long life and minimal waste.
Selecting Your Silky Saw
-
Blade Length: Choose from compact 130 mm Pocketboy models for quick pruning and emergency kits up to full-size 650 mm Katanaboy saws for heavy firewood and shelter building.
-
Tooth Pitch: Coarse XL teeth clear sap and softwood rapidly; finer Outback-Edition teeth leave smoother finishes on denser timbers.
-
Portability: Folding designs nest the blade safely into ergonomic TPR-overmold handles—perfect for pack pockets or tool belts.
Care & Maintenance
-
Cleaning: After use, brush out sawdust and sap, rinse the blade in fresh water and dry thoroughly to prevent corrosion.
-
Lubrication: A light coating of mineral or machine oil on the hinge and blade keeps opening smooth and guards against rust.
-
Storage: Store folded in a dry environment; replace blades when you notice reduced cutting speed or chipped teeth.
