Carpenter Technology Corporation developed Micro-Melt Maxamet specifically for use in the rollers of their state-of-the-art steel rolling mills. As one of only a handful of companies to master the specialised methods necessary to machine, heat treat, and grind this exotic alloy, Spyderco is pleased to offer it in some of their American-made products. This Para Military 2 features all the characteristics of the best-selling standard model, plus the supercharged edge holding and toughness of a Maxamet blade. To further distinguish it, its textured G10 scales are a distinctive dark grey colour. It features a Compression Lock and an ambidextrous-friendly four way clip which carries tip-up/tip-down, left/right-hand and rests deeper in a pocket. Implementation of an updated Bushing Pivot System generates fluid action and more consistent manufacturing tolerances. A larger lanyard hole gives you more options for carry and shows just how refined this knife is.

Solid but easily released lock that doesn’t require getting in the path of the edge. Very sharp out of the box with almost no need to sharpen it ever with light use. A word of caution though, Maxamet is brittle and probably shouldn’t be used on anything harder than plastic.
