Morakniv 120 Woodcarving Knife – Carbon Steel, Loose

(4 customer reviews)

A woodcarving knife made of carbon steel, excellent for beginners. It is also easy to sharpen, which means that you can experience enjoyable woodcarving moments over and over again. With a barrel-shaped oiled handle of Scandinavian birch wood and a tapered blade in carbon steel, you can carve beautiful objects, only your imagination sets the limits. The knife’s full rat tail tang, which runs through the entire handle, provides both strength and stability in each cut and the handle gives you the opportunity to shape it to your own needs or expression. The knife sheath made of polymer should always be mounted on the knife when not in use, partly to minimise the risk of injury from cuts and to maintain the sharpness.

(NOTE: Carbon steel rusts, wipe and oil the blade after use.)

Blade thickness: 2.7 mm

Blade length: 60 mm

Mora Wood Carving 120 - Knife Overview

Mora craft knives are well known and greatly appreciated for their sharpness and precision. Not least, the craftsmen in the village of Nusnäs who use them to carve one of Sweden’s most famous national symbols, the Dala horse.

Slöjdkniv 120 has a narrow and pointed blade made of carbon steel, which gives it superior toughness and edge resiliency. The full tang, which runs the full length of the handle, gives it strength and stability. Together with the flexible blade you can work with precision and really get to all the details. The spindle shaped handle made of oiled birch wood is slightly larger for a proper grip. The wood also gives it a natural feeling and also gives you the possibility to form the handle for optimal shape.

  1. Francesco (verified owner)

Pretty good and sharp for its price.
A bit on the soft side in term of the steel strength.

  2. Zachary Azeez (verified owner)

Great intro carving knife. Came from the box RAZOR sharp. I was recommended this knife by an experienced friend and it does not disappoint.

  3. Ethan Potgieter (verified owner)

Amazing knife straight from the box. Came very sharp and has a comfortable handle. Stropping the steel is very easy and keeps a fine honed edge for clean cuts.
Definitely a good choice for a high quality carver which isn’t too expensive

  4. Doug Mackay (verified owner)

This is the first carving knife you should buy. Proven over many years for it’s quality, sharpness on delivery and steel which holds an edge. Good for rough and fine carving work. I only carve Aussie hardwoods. A go-to knife for beginners and experienced wood carvers.
