It stays within the handle when not in use, but it can be easily deployed without any struggle. When time is of the essence, the handle naturally guides the seatbelt into the cutter, which locks into place with a liner. Kershaw rigorously tested this function to be their best seatbelt cutter yet. As a second option, responders can access the 3.2-inch blade quickly with SpeedSafe assisted opening. For repeated use, its D2 blade steel holds a long-lasting edge. A carbide glassbreaker tip breaks car windows with ease, rounding out this responder-friendly tool.

It’s a great knife. Feels solid in the hand with a great action to open. The blade feels strong with a very sharp blade (sharp enough to shave my arm hairs!). The clip is strong enough that I have zero concerns with it staying in my pocket even as I move around.
Took a star off due to the difficulty I had with cutting a seatbelt with the seatbelt cutter – While it did end up cutting the belt, because there’s less guidance for the belt (to funnel to the blade) than other cutters, sometimes it bunched and just did not cut. In fairness, it did cut when the belt was aligned, but I had better luck with cutting through the belt with the blade itself. The glass breaker is yet untested.
All in all, I think a good knife for it’s price-point and value.

I love this thing! The spring assist is amazing, the blade holds a brilliant edge, and we tested the glass breaker at work, and filmed it in slow motion because it was also amazing.
